Getting familiar with the Web Intelligence
Interface
Below are some examples
which will help to understand and practice real time SAP BOBJ web Intelligence Interface.
Please follow below exercises.
Exercise A
Create a new doc using e-Fashion universe,
showing Sales Revenue by State and Store name
Run the query to view results
Edit the doc to include a listing for Quantity
Sold by Year and Quarter
View the Sql and run the query
Save the doc as “ Activity Create Document”
Exercise B
Getting familiar with the Web Intelligence
interface:
Create a new Web Intelligence document in Launch
Pad or Rich Client
Choose the eFashion universe
Drag the following objects from the Data Tab
into Result Objects panel:
State, City, Year, Revenue
Run the query
Edit the query to add an object “Quarter”
Add this object from the data panel into the
document
Exercise A
Create a new doc, using e-fashion universe
showing Yr, Quarter , Qty Sold
Apply report level filter to show for Q1
Show sum of Quantity Sold.
Format the header of the table.
Duplicate the results to see the values in the
vertical bar chart.
Try various Charts options and save the document
as “Activity Tables & Charts“
Exercise B
Create a document with the objects State, Year
and Sales Revenue
Create copies of the list table generated
Convert them into the following styles: Cross
Tab, Bar Chart, Pie Chart, Radar Chart etc.
Indent the report neatly by getting into the
structure view
Explore other formatting options under the
“Properties” tab on the left hand side panel.
Exercise C : Formatting Charts
Create a new query with Quantity Sold,
State and Year
Add a query filter to the State object for
California, Colorado and DC
Run the query
Get Column chart template from report element
select region color as “Year”.
Format the Column chart as follows
Go to Format Chart >Global >General and
Adjust the width as 11.08 cm and
Height as 8.04 cm of the chart
Go to Legend properties and make legend visible.
Go to Format chart >Global >General and
Remove the axis names State and Quantity Sold(Category and Value axis)
Add Chart Title as Column Chart and make it
visible
Give border to title
Add Border to chart
Copy the same Chart and apply Flashy styles to
the chart.
Copy the same chart again and apply contrast
style to it.
Copy the same chart and apply 3D- look to it.
Exercise D : Creating Crosstab Report
Create a new document showing Quantity sold
by state and Line.
Add crosstab template from template menu.
Drag State objects in vertical header and Line
object in Horizontal header.
Add Quantity Sold in data area.
Apply block level filter for line (Accessories,
City skirts, City Trousers, Dresses, Jackets, and Leather).
Show sum of Quantity Sold in table.
Save the document as “Activity Crosstab “
Exercise A (Adding prompts)
Create a new doc with a report showing Quantity
sold by State, Store Name and Year\
Add a prompt filter to the query to select the
State each time the query is run refreshed
Run the Query to view your results selecting
Florida as the state
Change the prompts values
Does not keep the last value
Selection of Multiple values
Prompt is optional
Run the Query without providing state values,
Include an additional filter from the Product
class, add the predefined query filter
“Prompt for a line item? “ To the Query
filter panel.
Run the query for the Accessories and for
Colorado and New York
Save the report as “ Activity Filters 2 “
Exercise B (Adding prompts)
In the year 2003, in which Quarter did Crepe
Trousers generate maximum revenue. In which store? How about 2002?
Use the eFashion universe to create a report
with Year, Store name, and Sales Revenue. Use the Pre-Defined Condition named
“Which Product”.
Define a prompt on the Year object
Section the report on Year and then on Quarter
and analyse the data to find the answer
Exercise A : Restricting data ((Applying filter to a query to
limit the data)
Create a new doc with a report showing Sales
Revenue by State and Store name
Create a query filter to show data for the store
e-fashion “Dallas “
Run the query to view results
Replace the filter to display figures only for
e-fashion “New York Magnolia “ and e-fashion “New York Sundance”
Run the Query and save the Document as “Activity
filters 1 “
Exercise B : Restricting the data with Multiple
Filters
Create a new doc showing Sales Revenue and
Store Name where Margin is less than $1,000,000
(Do not include Margin in the Results Objects
Pane)
Edit the query and Add a query filter to show
Store Names with Sales Revenue more than $4,000,000
(Apply the Correct operator And/ OR)
Save the report as “Activity Filters 3”
